International Dialogue on Migration 2023

The International Dialogue on Migration (IDM) 2023 will focus on the theme, ‘Leveraging Human Mobility in Support of The Sustainable Development Goals’. The Dialogue will focus on assessing how migration and the International Organization on Migration (IOM) can contribute to the SDGs and leaving no one behind.

Two IDM sessions will take place in 2023: one in New York, US; and one in Geneva, Switzerland. These sessions are part of the global effort to develop transformative and accelerated action for achieving the SDGs at the mid-way point in their implementation.

The two IDM sessions are expected to guide the IOM’s contributions to achieving the SDGs and the IOM’s contributions to key UN processes, including the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), the UN High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the SDG Summit, and the Summit of the Future.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes migration as a core development challenge and includes eight targets that are explicitly linked to human mobility.
