International Day for South-South Cooperation

The International Day of South-South Cooperation, held on 19 December 2011, offers an opportunity for members to reaffirm the value and benefit offered by South-South cooperation. The UN General Assembly, as part of decision 58/220 to declare the International Day of South-South Cooperation, has urged relevant UN organizations and multilateral institutions to intensify their efforts to mainstream the use of South-South cooperation in designing, formulating and implementing their regular programmes.
