The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is organizing an international conference on 'Mountain People Adapting to Change: Solutions Beyond Boundaries Bridging Science, Policy, and Practice'. Noting that the rapid environmental change in the Hindu Kush Himalayas has outpaced adaptation techniques, the organizers aim to fill gaps in knowledge about local trends and global climate change and develop solutions that “look beyond political, sectoral and national boundaries”. Over 200 experts and stakeholders are anticipated to convene at the conference, which is expected to produce valuable insights for mountainous regions beyond the Hindu Kush Himalayas. The primary objectives of the conference are “share evidence-based scientific knowledge; boost awareness and engagement; and foster partnerships for action”.
