International Conference on Knowledge, Youth and Global Commons

This conference, titled “Knowledge, Youth and Global Commons: Orienting Knowledge Systems and Inter-Generational Relations towards Sustainable Development and Rio+20,” is being organized by the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Office Ljubljana, the International Association for the Advancement of Innovative Approaches to Global Challenges (IAAI) and the Vienna Liaison Office of the Academic Council on the UN System. The aim of the conference is to give youth from around the world a voice in the preparatory process for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). Participants will focus on, inter alia, “knowledge” as the key global sustainable development governance coordination element, and the IAAI proposal to frame all resources needed by present and future generations for sustainable development as “global commons.”
