Inclusive and Sustainable Development: Perspectives from Europe and Central Asia on the Post-2015 Development Agenda

This high-level consultation will identify regional priorities for the post-2015 development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and discuss how these priorities can become part of a coherent global framework. The event will also review regional experiences and lessons learned from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), spearhead ways to deepen regional cooperation, and review proposals for measuring sustainable development in the context of the post-2015 development agenda. Thematic sessions will address: equality of opportunity and outcome; putting people and planet first; and making the new agenda work. Inputs and related workstreams include: the UN Development Group's national and global thematic consultations on the post-2015 development agenda; the report of the UN High-level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP); the work of the Open Working Group (OWG) on SDGs; the post-2015 vision for Europe and Central Asia currently being formulated by the UN; and the civil society and UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) youth consultations. The meeting will be preceded by a civil society consultation. The Ministry of Development of Turkey is hosting the event, which is being organized in partnership with the UN Development Group and the Regional Coordination Mechanism.
