This one-day workshop is being organized by the World Resources Institute (WRI), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the Access Initiative, the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and the World Future Council, in collaboration with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), in preparation for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). It will focus on Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration, proposals for a compendium of commitments, ombudsperson for future generations and sustainable development goals, and the international environmental governance framework for the future.
