The Hamburg Sustainability Conference aims to speed up SDG implementation and deliver results-oriented solutions through new partnerships and collective action. The Conference will focus on scalable solutions across a diversity of sectors that can support a sustainable future.

The Hamburg Sustainability Conference is a joint initiative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the German Federal Government (BMZ), the Michael Otto Foundation, and the City of Hamburg. The Conference will bring together Heads of State and leaders from international organizations, the private sector, academia, and civil society to develop joint solutions for a socio-ecological transformation.

The Conference will feature high-level keynotes and panels, future talks and solutions talks, moderated discussions and innovative interactive formats where groups can come together to exchange ideas and form new alliances to address challenges, and networking and exhibition areas to showcase best practice examples.

Three forums will focus on: reshaping the international financial architecture, unleashing investments for the SDGs, and leveraging transformation. The leveraging transformation forum will address five areas of action: resilient food systems; green energy and net zero; responsible artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization; future cities; and empowering societies. Conference participants will discuss barriers to SDG implementation and explore opportunities for systemic change, including how to unleash the potential of the private sector to achieve the SDGs and how to create climate-friendly value chains.
