Green Growth and Sustainable Development Forum

The 2013 'Green Growth and Sustainable Development Forum: How to unlock investment in support of green growth?' aims to bring together experts from different disciplines working on green growth and sustainable development to facilitate discussion, knowledge exchange and identification of potential synergies. Day one will include three plenary sessions to: highlight the benefits and challenges of using private investments and public funds; examine policy options to facilitate long-term financing for green growth projects; and discuss options to mobilize investment foster innovation in the transport sector. Day two will delve further into these issues using case studies and country experience. Three breakout sessions will focus on: identifying policy options to support investment in clean energy infrastructure; considering the role of development and local banks for supporting small medium enterprises (SMEs) in green growth; and discussing policy options to direct investment in land transport infrastructure. A closing plenary on day two will highlight knowledge gaps identified through the breakout sessions and discuss further research priorities.
