20-21 May 2024 Tokyo, Japan
Global Transparency Forum 2024

The Global Transparency Forum will bring together developing countries, donor countries, and transparency support providers to take stock of the implementation progress of the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) in countries and discuss gaps, challenges, and approaches on how to overcome them. The Forum will share good practices and reflect on lessons learned through a mix of plenary and breakout sessions.

The Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) is organizing the Forum. The CBIT-GSP is a global project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), executed by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and implemented by the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre. The CBIT-GSP is the continuation and merging of two prior global progammes, the CBIT Global Coordination Platform and the Global Support Programme. The Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) is a five-year project that supports countries in preparing for the ETF’s more comprehensive and stringent transparency requirements.

The Government of Japan’s Ministry of Environment will host the Forum.
