Established in 2008, the Global Sourcing Council (GSC) 3S Awards program recognizes individuals and organizations for social and economic leadership in innovating, improving and implementing Sustainable and Socially Responsible Sourcing (3S) practices. The GSC 3S Awards program honors best “green” practices in global sourcing, as implemented by companies, corporations and individuals supporting global sustainable development, social responsibility, ethical and ecological business practices and the general idea of giving back to the local community. The 2015 GSC Awards Categories include: 3S Community Engagement Award, 3S Employee Engagement Award, 3S Empowered Women Award and 3S Impact Sourcing Award. As part of the event, a keynote address from Atefeh 'Atti' Riazi, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Information Technology Officer will be delivered on crisis response and crisis prevention. A panel discussion will take place on the role of the private sector in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
