Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation: Building Towards “The How” of the Post-2015 Development Agenda

The UN Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC) and the UN Association of Flanders, Belgium (Vereniging voor Verenigde Naties, or VVN) will hold a conference to take stock of the results of the Global Partnership, looking ahead to its first ministerial conference to convene from 15-16 April 2014, in Mexico City, Mexico. The meeting will focus on how the post-2015 development agenda may be implemented. Speakers will include: Erik Solheim, President of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); Peter Moors, Director-General, Belgian Development Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Laurent Standaert, UN Development Programme (UNDP); and Justin Kilcullen, Global CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness. Presentations will be in English, and discussions will be in both English and French. The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation was the major outcome of the 2011 Busan Conference and an extension of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and the Accra Action Plan.
