The Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Coordination Mechanism (GCM), which coordinates multi-governmental efforts to fund high-priority climate observation needs, will hold its Donor Board meeting from 6-9 June. The Donor Board identifies deficiencies in observation and data management systems in developing countries and seeks to address these gaps through the GCM Donor Fund or other funding mechanisms. GCOS is a partnership among the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (UNESCO-IOC), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Council for Science (ICSU).
