14-15 January 2013 Utrecht, Netherlands
Gender and Land Governance Conference

The International Development Studies Group (Utrecht University) in collaboration with LANDac (the IS Academy on Land Governance for Equitable and Sustainable Development) will convene a 2-day conference on gender and land governance in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The meeting, which will bring together scholars and policy makers engaged in the gender dynamics of land governance processes, will include plenary panels of guest speakers from across academia and public policy, as well as a series of academic papers. The conference is meant to serve as a launching point for the development of the Technical Guide on Gender-equitable Governance of Land Tenure, an output that aims to assist in the implementation of Voluntary Guidelines on gender equality in tenure governance. The Guide will focus on equity and how land tenure governance can address the different needs and priorities of women and men.
