G20 Climate and Environment Ministers’ Meeting 2023

The G20 Climate and Environment Ministers’ Meeting 2023 is one of the ministerial meetings organized in the run-up to the G20 Leaders’ Summit 2023, which will be hosted by India in September 2023.

Under the Indian Presidency, the G20 in 2023 will focus on the theme, ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. The theme affirms the value of humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms and their interconnectedness on planet Earth and in the wider universe.

Each G20 Presidency includes the organization of ministerial meetings on each of the main focus areas of the forum. These meetings are important opportunities to discuss and further develop issues of international relevance and to build consensus around specific shared deliverables. The ministerial meetings are organized independently from the Summit, where the Heads of State and Government endorse some of the key outcomes achieved by the ministers.

The G20 is made up of 19 countries and the EU. The 19 countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, the UK, and the US.
