The fourth GIB Summit will be held at the Congress Center Basel, Switzerland on 21-22 May 2014, and will focus on 'Mainstreaming Sustainability in Infrastructure Finance and Investment'. The 4th Global Infrastructure Basel Summit 2014 will begin with an interactive, participant-centred workshop titled 'Financing Infrastructure Projects in Cities – Avoiding Traps and Achieving Sustainability'. The session will use the case study discussion method to draw out key issues, best practices and useful tools for financing sustainable infrastructure. Round table discussions, workshops, plenaries, and investment forums will provide a unique platform for interaction among global leaders, investors, project developers and practitioners to address issues including: removing the bottleneck of greenfield projects through early-stage financing; creditworthiness of cities; sustainable infrastructure as an asset class; and spurring sustainable infrastructure development with new approaches.
