The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Forestry and Timber Section, in collaboration with the Governments of Italy, the Russian Federation and Switzerland and other partners, will launch the Forests for Fashion initiative on the occasion of the International Day of Forests. The initiative aims to promote sustainable fashion through building awareness and changing perceptions concerning sustainable consumption and production patterns and the role of forests in a green economy. The event will include an art performance, a conference on forests and a fashion exhibit.
