First Meeting of the Parties to the 2003 Kiev Protocol on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers
The Protocol is the first legally binding international instrument on pollutant release and transfer registers (PRTRs), which help to identify the biggest sources of pollution, including those emitting greenhouse gases (GHGs). The Protocol is expected to contribute to climate change mitigation efforts in the region of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
