The International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR) and the CIHEAM Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari are organizing the first CIGR Inter-Regional Conference on Land and Water Challenges, which will take place under the theme “Water, environment and agriculture: challenges for sustainable development”. The conference will present and discuss sustainable use of natural resources at different scales with the aim of promoting better development of agriculture. Preliminary themes include: conservation agriculture; water use performance and water productivity; irrigation technologies; climate change adaptation and mitigation; drought risk management; decision support systems and modeling tools; information and communication technologies (ICT); and policies and governance.
