Focusing specifically on renewable energy, the first Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) Forum seeks to bring together government officials, private sector actors, researchers, financial institutions, civil society and other stakeholders to work towards AEEP 2020 targets in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The Forum will focus on, among others, identifying synergies among stakeholder groups, and between EU and African stakeholders in contributing to the achievement of AEEP 2020 targets; addressing barriers for increased investment and development assistance, including implications for policy-makers; and advancing technology transfer between the two regions.
