Financing Sustainable Electrification in Central and Western Africa

Organized by the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP), Agence Française de Développement (ADF) and the European Commission, this workshop, one of a series of regional dialogues, aims to: transfer business-oriented expertise for the financing of sustainable electrification projects; enhance developing and emerging countries’ capacity to attract advanced power technology investment through the development of appropriate policy strategies and actions plans; and strengthen public-private partnerships to create and environment conducive for the deployment of low-carbon electricity technologies. The European Commission is holding the conference in collaboration with the French Development Agency and Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership, the latter being an international non-profit organization created in the wake of the 1992 Rio Summit with members from 12 leading electricity companies worldwide.
