Fifth South Asian Conference on Sanitation

The Fifth South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN) will take place under the theme, 'Sanitation for All: All for Sanitation'. SACOSAN is a biennial government-led convention that aims to develop a regional sanitation agenda, share experiences and lessons learned, and design future actions. The conference's objectives are to accelerate progress in sanitation and hygiene in South Asia and to enhance quality of life. The conference will include plenary sessions, technical focus sessions, side events and a field visit. The eight technical sessions will focus on: community sanitation and sustainability; urban sanitation; school sanitation; knowledge management and networking; sanitation technology and marketing; reaching unreached; health and sanitation; and media advocacy. The participating SACOSAN countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
