The fifth meeting of the Technical Committee of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA, or UNESCWA) will take place in Beirut, Lebanon. The meeting will address issues related to the future work of ESCWA, as well as salient regional and global priorities, including regional preparations for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio +20).
