3-6 October 2023 Colombo, Sri Lanka
Fifth Forum of Ministers and Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific

The fifth Forum of Ministers and Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific will discuss and prioritize environmental issues in the Asia-Pacific region. The Forum will provide an opportunity to contribute to the outcome of the sixth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), which is taking place under the theme, ‘Effective, inclusive and sustainable multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution’. Participants will review the progress of UNEA resolutions’ implementation in the Asia-Pacific region and identify opportunities to strengthen the regional environmental agenda.

The Forum is organized jointly by the Ministry of Environment of the Government of Sri Lanka and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

The Forum will also provide an opportunity for UNEP partners, UN agencies, private sector representatives, scientists, academia, and civil society to bring their perspectives and ideas to achieve the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and regional commitments to multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs).
