Fifteenth Southern Africa Region Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-15)

Convened under the theme “Seasonable Climate Prediction: A Strategic Tool in Sustainable Socio-Economic Development,” the 15th Southern Africa Region Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-15) is being organized by the Southern Africa Development Community in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR) to develop a consensus climate outlook for the period from October 2011 until March 2012. SARCOF-15 is also expected to address potential climate impacts on sectors including disaster risk management, food security, and health and water resources. The last rainy season in the region will also be assessed.
