This meeting will bring together staff from various Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Units and a small group of external experts to review two scoping papers addressing complementary dimensions of land governance and social protection. The first scoping document compares the impact of investing in rights-based approaches to natural resources or social protection schemes, in terms of achieving the overall objective of reducing vulnerability and food insecurity. The second document explores the linkages between gender, social protection and natural resources management from a global poverty perspective.
