FAO-OECD Expert Meeting on Greening the Economy with Agriculture

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) is collaborating with partners in analyzing existing information and developing possible scenarios for Greening the Economy with Agriculture (GEA), including an evaluation of sustainability progress and gaps in the food supply chain to projection of food supply and demand towards 2050, and the joint FAO/Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) meeting will focus on addressing these scenarios. The meeting will be hosted by OECD at its headquarters and FAO will support the participation to this meeting of selected experts and chiefly, those from seven developing countries. Attendance at the Expert Meeting is by invitation only. Agenda items include: low footprint and productive food and agriculture systems; decent rural livelihoods, green jobs and land tenure; resilience to shocks of low-carbon food systems; quality and health of green food; and policy coherence for GEA.
