Fair on National Experiences with the Implementation of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

Organized jointly by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Government of India, this fair will be held at the margins of of the sixth meeting of the CBD Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP-MOP 6). It will provide Parties, other Governments and relevant organizations with the opportunity to showcase their national experiences, good practices and lessons learned on various topics, including: national implementation of the Strategic Plan for the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (2011-2020); development and implementation of National Biosafety Frameworks; design and implementation of biosafety capacity-building activities; use of the Biosafety Clearing-House; and implementation of the programme of work on public awareness, education and participation concerning the safe transfer, handling and use of living modified organisms (2011-2015).
