The Government of Austria is convening a high level panel on the links between forests and food as a contribution to the EXPO Milano theme, ‘Feeding the Planet – Energy for Life'. Including panelists such as, Andrä Rupprechter, Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, Austria, and Eduardo Rojas-Briales, Assistant Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO). The panel will consider how forests can contribute to the challenge of feeding the world's growing population in light of the increased pressure on forests from over-exploitation. The panel will be moderated by James Astill, the Political Editor and Bagehot Columnist of ‘The Economist'.
