Organized by the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT), German International Cooperation (GIZ) and the World Resources Institute's (WRI) EMBARQ Network on sustainable transport, this workshop will examine current institutional and financial arrangements in China for sustainable urban transport and related international experiences, with a view to producing recommendations specific to the Chinese situation but bearing in best good international practice that will be presented to the Chinese Government in 2013. SLoCaT is a multi-stakeholder initiative that includes several nongovernmental organizations and regional development banks, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the International Energy Agency (IEA) and several UN organs such as the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN-HABITAT.
