Expert Group Meeting on Shaping the Reporting by Major Groups and Other Stakeholders on Their Contribution to the Implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (para 89) calls on Major Groups and other relevant stakeholders to report on their contributions to the implementation of the Agenda. In this context, the Division for Sustainable Development of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is organizing an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on Shaping the Reporting by Major Groups and Other Stakeholders on their Contribution to the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda. It will provide an opportunity to discuss how to ensure the effective participation and contribution of Major Groups and Other Stakeholders to the review and implementation of the 2030 Agenda, and strategies and approaches for operationalizing their reporting at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The EGM is expected to result in a recommended set of elements that could form the basis for voluntary guidelines or template for reporting by Major Groups and Other Stakeholders on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda to the HLPF. It will be open to Major Groups and Other stakeholder, representatives from the UN system and invited experts.
