Expert Group Meeting on Science-Policy Interface

At this expert group meeting (EGM), representatives of Member States, UN system organizations, major groups including the scientific community and academia, and other relevant stakeholders will discuss how science and policy can better communicate, in order to make policy decision-making more evidence-based. Topics will include: stocktaking of science-policy interface for sustainable development; strengthening the interface between science and policy communities; the Global Sustainable Development Report as an option to strengthen science-policy interface; and the way forward. Strengthening the science-policy interface is among the mandates given to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) by the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).
