This side event to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) is being organized by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Energy Agency (IEA). It will present findings and recommendations from an assessment on GEF energy efficiency buildings and appliances projects. These projects span over 50 countries over the past 20 years. The event aims to encourage policymakers to mainstream energy efficiency and low-carbon solutions in building construction and management and in city planning. The event will also include roundtable discussions.
