This is the final project conference for the recharge.green project, which examined trade-offs between the costs and benefits of renewable energy use in the Alps. Co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund in the framework of the European Territorial Cooperation Programme Alpine Space, the project assessed Alpine potential for biomass, hydropower, solar, and wind energy production, taking into account technical, environmental and social constraints. The conference will discuss specific challenges related to renewable energy use in the Alps and explore conflict resolution processes and other policy tools to manage diverging demands on landscape and nature when planning local and regional energy development. The conference will conclude with a public evening event, poster exhibit and excursion.
