This meeting, organized by the Economics of Land Degradation (ELD) Initiative, will bring together stakeholders and representatives from different Southeast Asian countries to present and discuss insights from partial data analysis undertaken for a regional study on ELD. Topics to be covered at the workshop include, inter alia: the global context of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15 Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) target and the contribution of research undertaken by the ELD Initiative; the land degradation situation in South East Asia; the links between sustainable land management (SLM) and LDN; the role of the private sector in promoting or impeding SLM; and how to promote LDN through national and local legislation.
