Eighth International Convention on Environment and Development

The Eighth International Convention on Environment and Development will include experts from Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Spain, Norway, the United States and Ecuador. Ahmed Djoghlaf, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and Luc Gnacadja, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), will speak at the convention opening. The convention will include sessions on climate change, environmental education, protected areas, ecosystem management and biodiversity, environmental rights, environmental land planning, as well as hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment.
