The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), in partnership with the Center for Electronic Governance at United Nations University IIST (UNU), will hold special session as a side event for the 2013 Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) High Level Segment Meetings on ‘Innovation and Technology for Post 2015 Development: the Expert's View'. Experts will offer their views on the issue and engage participants in an interactive discussion on the role, opportunities and challenges for using technology as a governance enabler for post-2015 development. Building on the inputs received from the participants, they will create a case for including technology-enabled governance in the post-2015 debate.
