ECOSOC Coordination and Management Meeting – June 2015 Session

The UN Economic and Social Council's (ECOSOC) Coordination and Management Meetings (CMMs) have three main functions: reviewing reports of the Council's subsidiary and expert bodies; system-wide coordination and review of specific development issues, with a view to promoting a more integrated response to specific areas; and considering special country situation or regional issues on the Council's agenda. This CMM session will include a review of progress and a discussion on the way forward related to the ECOSOC dialogue on the longer-term positioning of the UN Development System. The dialogue seeks to inform the outcome of the next UN General Assembly (UNGA) resolution on the Quadrennial Comprehensive Policy Review (QCPR) – the mechanism through which the UNGA assesses the effectiveness, efficiency, coherence and impact of the UN Development System. Based on ECOSOC resolution 2014/14, it needs to take into account the post-2015 development agenda.
