EATx UNGA 2016: Urban Food Systems: The Nutrition Challenge

This event will highlight the need for a coordinated approach to addressing urban food system challenges and will bring together a range of actors across sectors and disciplines in order to come up with concrete solutions and commitments to address the food-system challenges. The programme will consist of a series of keynote addresses and an interactive panel discussion with experts from government, academia, the private sector, the UN and civil society. This event, which will coincide with the opening of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), is being organized by the EAT Foundation in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The inaugural EATx event was held in September 2014 during the 69th session of the UNGA. The EAT Foundation builds on the work of the EAT Initiative and aims to reform the global food system and transform the way we eat in order to feed a growing population with “healthy food from a healthy planet”.
