e-Debate on Adversity and Urban Planning: Designing Safer, More Resilient Cities

The conversation on ‘Adversity and urban planning: Designing safer, more resilient cities' is part of three e-Debates on urban equity in development that URB.im is hosting in advance of the Seventh World Urban Forum (WUF 7), which will take place under the theme, ‘Urban Equity in Development—Cities for Life'. This conversation will discuss the conflicts, risks and tradeoffs faced by city planners as they seek to balance stakeholder interests and prepare for natural and human-made disasters. Participants will discuss approaches and strategies for meeting the needs of diverse stakeholders, allocating resources fairly and sustainably and closing gaps and scaling solutions. Six panelists will participate in the discussion: Jorge Bela, Bogotá and Cali Community Manager, URB.im; Kathryn Ewing, SUN Development; Neil Kleiman, NYU Wagner Innovation Labs; Priyanka Jain, Delhi Community Manager, URB.im; and Saima Sultana Jaba, Dhaka Community Manager, URB.im.
