Drafting Committee Meeting for the Report of the Second Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group on Biodiversity and Climate Change

The Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group (AHTEG) on biodiversity and climate change was established in response to decision IX/16 of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to provide biodiversity-relevant information to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) through the provision of scientific and technical advice and assessment on the integration of the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity into climate change mitigation and adaptation activities. Findings from the AHTEG’s first (17-21 November 2008, London, UK) and second (18-22 April 2009, Helsinki, Finland) meetings were compiled into a draft report, which was subject to a peer review process. The drafting committee meeting is expected to finalize the AHTEG’s report to be submitted to the UNFCCC.
