The “Development and Climate Days” special event has been a feature of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) for several years. At COP 17, the event will be held from 3-4 December, and is organized by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The 2011 event will focus on “effective climate change adaptation planning,” in response to the decision taken under the Cancun Adaptation Framework to invite all countries, and especially developing countries, to develop National Adaptation Plans.
