Development and Climate Days, Adaptation Practioner’s Day

The Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre, International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) will facilitate the Development and Climate Days on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. The Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the UNFCCC Secretariat will hold an Adaptation Practitioner's Day on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The Development and Climate Days, which are celebrating their 10th anniversary, are organized under the theme of “innovative approaches, incisive dialogue on climate-smart development.” The Days will focus on learning-by-doing, featuring innovative dialogues between negotiators and policy makers, knowledge centres and practitioners. The Adaptation Practitioners Days will address the question “what is adaptation in practice” by sharing field experiences on concrete adaptation actions and lessons learned from over 10 years of adaptation financing under the UNFCCC Climate Change Funds, the Least Developed Countries (LDC) Fund and the Special Climate Change Fund.
