The ninth session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP9) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) will take place on the theme of 'Implementing the 2030 Development Agenda for all persons with disabilities: Leaving no one behind'. The event marks the tenth anniversary of the CRPD. Sub-themes to be addressed at the Conference include: eliminating poverty and inequality for all persons with disabilities; promoting the rights of persons with mental and intellectual disabilities; and enhancing accessibility to information and technology and inclusive development. The Conference will elect nine members to the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to replace those whose terms will expire in December 2016. A civil society forum will take place the day before the Conference.
