Connecting for Climate: Technology, Creativity and Action

At this event the World Bank will celebrate the winning entries in the second annual “Apps for Climate” competition. The “Apps for Climate” is a creative way to encourage innovative, cutting-edge ways to use open climate data. The event will also see the launch of the joint project between Connect4Climate and MTV called “Voices4Climate,” a new global competition in search of the world's most powerful climate stories told through photos, videos, and music videos. Winning entries will be featured at the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 18) to the UNFCCC at the end of 2012. Connect4Climate (C4C) is sponsored by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the World Bank, and the Italian Ministry for the Environment. The goal of C4C is to raise awareness about climate change issues around the world, with an initial focus on Africa.
