This conference will consider the European Union's Ecodesign and Energy Labelling directives, examining past achievements, the current situation and future challenges. The conference will also consider linkages to similar programs internationally and potential further alignment with them. Other specific topics to be discussed include: the future of the energy labelling and ecodesign directives; resource efficiency and product policy – the way forward; impact of product policy measures on regulatory developments in other countries; market surveillance the key to compliance; standardization: the workhorse of product policy; and the impact of product policy measures on competitiveness, innovation and technology development. The deadline for registration is 15 February 2014.
