Conference on Data Revolution for Sustainable Development

The Conference on Data Revolution for Sustainable Development will bring together representatives from the private sector, academia and government, as well as statisticians, parliamentarians and journalists, mainly from Latin America and the Caribbean, to discuss and debate issues regarding a Global Partnership on Data Development. Participants will present best practices, and explore innovative tools, systems and strategies to improve the quality of data for sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean and to move towards a new paradigm of data collection and data sharing for development. This conference is being convened following the report of the UN Secretary-General's High-level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (HLP), which calls for a data revolution and the establishment of a Global Partnership on Data Development. The Information Center on International Cooperation (CEPEI – Centro de Información sobre la Cooperación Internacional) is hosting the conference, in partnership with academia and the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with support from the HLP Secretariat and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
