This international roundtable conference, organized by CIFAL Scotland, a UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)-affiliated training center for Northern Europe, will provide a space for discussing the challenges of climate change, climate justice as a human right, and Scotland's contribution to climate justice. In 2012, the Scottish government launched the 'Climate Justice Fund,' the value of which was doubled to £6 million in 2013. The Fund currently supports projects in Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zambia in the areas of water and food security, and action against climate change impacts, such as floods, droughts and severe weather. The one-day conference will include opening remarks by UNITAR representatives, a keynote speech by Humza Yousaf, Minister for External Affairs and International Development of the Scottish Government, and a panel discussion.
