Climate Change Legal Negotiations: Implications for Forest Governance, Equity and Livelihoods

The UN University (UNU) is organizing this event focused on legal negotiations in climate change. During the event, a panel will discuss mechanisms for access and benefit sharing related to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and the implementation of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), including lessons for climate change legal negotiations from access and benefit sharing agreements. The panel will also discuss the implementation of global environmental agreements within local realities and highlight experiences of communities from different tropical regions in addressing the challenge of ensuring development objectives in an equitable and just manner.
