Organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, the UN Development Programme – Kyrgyzstan (UNDP Kyrgyzstan) and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction – Sub-Regional Office for Central Asia (UNISDR CA), and hosted by the Government of Kyrgysztan, this meeting of Ministers of Disaster Management and Emergency Situations of the Central Asian and South Caucasus countries will discuss and agree on a regional statement on cooperation and coordination in the implementation of the post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), to be adopted at the 3rd World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR), to be held from 14-18 March 2015, in Sendai, Japan. The meeting follows a series of consultations held in the region since 2013.
