Participants at this meeting, which is closed to the public, are expected to discuss the North American Commission for Environment Cooperation's (CEC) three project tracks for chemicals in 2012: identifying and tracking chemicals in commerce in North America; risk reduction strategies to reduce the exposure to chemicals of mutual concern to Canada, Mexico and the US; and environmental monitoring and assessment of chemicals of mutual concern. The meeting may also consider the recommendation from the Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC) that the CEC propose compliance measures regarding transboundary movement of used lead-acid batteries.
